Exploring the Vibrant Beauty of Thailand
One of the exciting parts of being a SEA Teacher Participant is the opportunity to visit different places and to learn about the culture and history of the place. Throughout the program, we had two excursion activities where we had memorable and meaningful experiences together with my fellow SEA Teacher participants. I can say that from temples to markets, Khon Kaen has it all! So grateful for this incredible experience and feeling blessed to witness the rich history and breathtaking landscapes of Khon Kaen.
Nong Waeng Temple
Nong Waeng Temple is located in the Mueang Khon Kaen district's Nai Mueang subdistrict along Klang Muang Road. The temple received a Wisukham Sima for the first time in 1899 by Phraya Nakhon Sriborirak (Au). The nine-tiered Phra Mahathat, elegantly shaped and houses the Buddha's relics, is a royal monastery known as Kean Nakhon Chedi (Stupa).
Khon Kaen University Art Museum
The museum was established to collect, preserve and display arts and artifacts which are treasures and cultural resources of the University and the nation.
Columbo Craft Village
It is a little community with a cozy feel. Within the village are artisan stores owned by various artists. Anyone can have fascinating discussions with proprietors of artisan stores.
Udon Organic Farm
By visiting Udon Organic Farm, we learned about the science behind organic farming and sustainable living, have a knowledge on regenerative agriculture and animal husbandry business model, the importance of nutrient density, food preservation skills, and the vital role that the gut microbiome plays in nutrition.
Lhong Pa Cafe
It is a cafe that has an amazing view where you will feel like you're lost in the forest because of its nice ambience.
Udon Thani City Museum
Because it has accumulated the history of the province of Udon Thani, the Udon Thani Museum is regarded as a significant historical destination. Additionally, visitors to this museum will learn about the life and times of Udon Thani from various aspects.
